What is Route101?

Route101 is a Windows desktop launcher that installs Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric Loader, and the mods required by our private Cobblemon server, then launches the game directly into that server. It is not a generic launcher — it connects to one server only.

The launcher uses official Microsoft authentication (XboxLive.signin scope) so players sign in with their real Microsoft / Mojang account. The server runs online-mode=true; only properly authenticated Minecraft accounts can join.

Why this app requests Minecraft API access

• Opens the Microsoft sign-in page in the user's browser (PKCE, public-client flow).
• Exchanges the MS access token through Xbox Live → XSTS → Mojang to obtain a Minecraft access token + UUID.
• Uses the token only to launch the official Minecraft client against our server. No reselling of tokens, no automation, no botting.
• Refresh tokens are stored locally using Windows DPAPI (OS-native secret storage). Never transmitted to any third party.

What we store

• Locally on the player's machine: Microsoft refresh token (Windows DPAPI), launcher settings (RAM, server pinned), downloaded game/mod files.
• On our backend: Mojang UUID, in-game purchases, owned cosmetics. No passwords, no MS tokens, no email.
• We do not sell, share, or analytically process player data.

Scope

Route101 is private and Windows-only. Estimated user base: 10–50 active accounts at launch, capped under 500 in the first year. Distribution is via a signed Windows (MSI) installer from this domain. Source is closed.

Minecraft EULA compliance

Route101 and the Cobblemon server it connects to follow the Minecraft EULA. We do not support or implement pay-to-win mechanics. The only paid items are cosmetics (visual-only) and private server access. Nothing sold for real money grants gameplay advantages, stat boosts, exclusive items affecting balance, or progression shortcuts.
